Terms of Use
The short version: it's your computer, your files, and — once you've bought it — your copy. Use it accordingly.
What ArchiveMind is
ArchiveMind is desktop software, made by Dominik Krzanowski, that catalogues and searches files on your own drives, entirely on your own computer. It is a catalogue, not a backup tool: it stores information about your files, never copies of them, and it cannot restore files from a lost drive.
The beta
During the private beta, ArchiveMind is free to use for personal evaluation by invited testers. Beta software is provided "as is": it is tested carefully, but you should expect rough edges, keep real backups of anything you care about (you should do that anyway), and expect beta builds to be superseded.
Your license (when purchasing opens)
A personal license lets one person install and use ArchiveMind on up to two computers they own or control — a desktop and a laptop, or an old machine and its replacement. The license is delivered as a signed file; the application verifies it entirely on your machine. Don't share your license file, resell it, or attempt to forge licenses. That's the whole ask.
What you may not do
Don't use ArchiveMind to violate laws that apply to you; don't redistribute the application or your license file; don't misrepresent modified copies as official builds.
Warranty and liability
ArchiveMind is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from its use. ArchiveMind reads your files to index them and never modifies your originals — but no software vendor can stand behind the health of your drives, so: keep backups.
Termination
Licenses obtained fraudulently, refunded, or used in breach of these terms are no longer valid. These terms otherwise continue for as long as you use the software.
Governing law and contact
ArchiveMind is a product of Its Magic Entertainment LLC. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States. Questions: magicdominik@gmail.com.
